First Place: Team SurfTheMusic
We had so many incredible entries to our first Halloween competition last year, but team SurfTheMusic ultimately took home first place - And weâre kind of obsessed!
Decking out the wagon to look just like the first train on the Hogwarts Express, they cut out and stuck together cardboard so it wrapped around the entire wagon perfectly, then topped the whole wagon off with a lick of paint and even hand-painted the Hogwarts Express number onto the front!
In our opinion, the outfit coordination really took the cake - I mean, have you ever seen a cuter Harry Potter or Dobby? We havenât!
When we think of âHalloweenâ we usually think of things such as Vampires, Bats, Skeletons and Coffins, so Steph and her son Ezra really nailed last year's Halloween challenge with their dress-up attempt!
Decorating the Wagon to look just like a coffin (with coordinated skeleton outfits to match), the attention to detail on this custom really stood out, and we loved the inclusion of the pumpkin and spiderwebs on the front to make it look dusty!
Oh, and no good Halloween costume would be complete without including The Grinch - Great choice Ezra and Steph!
3rd Place: The Nyhuis FamilyHalloween is a huge family affair for us here at Burleigh Wagon HQ, so we love when we see Mumâs and Dadâs get involved in dress-ups and other activities - Including this seriously creative wagon from the Nyhuis family!
Team Nyhuis banded together to cut out, paint and create their very own Toy Story Mobile, and they even got two of the coolest Toy Story-themed costumes to ensure their Toy Story Mobile was full of our favourite characters! Â
Here at Burleigh Wagon weâre all about trying to encourage families to get out and do more together - So it was amazing to see the entire Nyhuis clan get involved with this costume to make it come to life!
We loved seeing so many people in our community dress up and get creative with their wagons, but we couldnât resist dressing ours up as well and taking it for a spin.
We took our Burleigh Wagon to Dreamworld for their Happy Halloween event, and we had great fun the entire night!
We decorated our wagon like a spooky shed for the girls to hide inside - This is our step-by-step guide to do it:

We had such a great response to our 2022 Halloween Competition that weâre looking forward to decorating our wagons again this year!
Last year we gave out a range of vouchers to our three winners so that they could shop the full Burleigh Wagon range and pick up some goodies for Christmas or the Australian summer - If youâve been considering getting a Wagon, why not order one for Halloween and take part in our next competition this October!
]]>The cooler weather has officially started rolling in over the last few days, but even with the winter weather fast approaching, itâs important that kids are still able to get out into the fresh air and explore. Here at Burleigh Wagon weâre all about helping families to get out and about as much as possible, so here are 5 of our Favourite Winter Activities to ensure the chilly season doesnât hold you back!
Football is a hugely popular sport in Australia, and with the 2022 AFL season just kicking off, itâs a great time to bundle up the kids and take them out to their first game!
Several smaller stadiums have grassy areas where you can take your Burleigh Wagon and enjoy the game from its relaxed and casual bench seating. Pack the wagonâs underseat storage with drinks, snacks and blankets to sit on (and snuggle in), and enjoy the game from the grass with your family!
Can you name a more quintessential winter activity than donning your snow gear and rolling around in the snow? We certainly canât!
Australia is lucky enough to get snow in a few parts of the country each year, and if you want to plan a full holiday centered around some snow-filled fun, there are a few places you can go. Perisher, Thredbo and Mount Buller are all great places to enjoy a day of tobogganing, snow angels, and snowball fights. You can even go off the beaten track and book a cabin up in the Blue Mountains for a more authentic snow experience. Your Burleigh Wagon will pull well through the snow, so you can laden it up with snacks, warm drinks, and spare gloves for the kids. Also, use it as a comfortable bench seat to relax while the kids play in the snow!
Australia has dozens of zoos, adventure parks, and theme parks around the country. These local tourist destinations are a great place to go and burn off some energy during winter.
Filled with rides, cute and cuddly animals, interactive shows and so much more, theme parks and zoos have endless possibilities for keeping kids of all ages entertained all day long. Often involving large amounts of walking, little (and big) legs may get tired throughout the day, so we highly recommend bringing your Burleigh Wagon with you for your day of adventure to make sure everyone has a fun day out. Use the underseat storage to keep snacks, water, and your nappy bag if you have toddlers. And be sure to bring the USB speaker with you to keep your phone charged throughout the day. If you have a Burleigh Wagon Umbrella or Cushion Seats we recommend bringing these two so youâve got a comfortable seat (and your kids have a shaded bed!)
Weâve also partnered with Australia Zoo, Aussie World and Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to provide wagons for hire, so if you havenât joined the Burleigh Wagon family but want to try one out, you can head to one of these three locations.
Is there anything more Australian than booking a winter fishing or camping trip? While we get that the idea of camping with littleâs can be intimidating for any new parent, itâs a great way to help your kids explore the land around them and get out into the wild to burn off some of that relentless energy!
Bringing your Burleigh Wagon with you can provide extra storage and a safe place for your kids to hang out and play in, but if youâre concerned about camping with little kids, here are a few of our top tips:
Have you ever considered taking your children for a winter bushwalk? Without the beating sun and all of the bugs to compete with, the chilly season is actually the best time to get outdoors and go exploring!
Australia has plenty of family-friendly hikes and bushwalks that you can explore for an hour, a morning, or an entire day. Many of which will be stroller friendly so you can take the Burleigh Wagon too. Pack your wagon with some snacks, sunscreen, hats, and bug spray, so you can have all you need for a successful trip out.Â
If youâre not sure about what bushwalks are kid-friendly, or youâd love some new suggestions, you can check out some of our favourites on our blog Top 8 Australian Parks & Trails That Your Kids Will LoveÂ
*If you think thereâs a trail that weâre missing, let us know and we can add it on!
]]>1. Create a mess-free, portable sensory play spaceÂ
Â
Looking for a way to keep your little ones entertained without worrying about the mess? Turn the Burleigh Wagon into a portable sensory play table! By popping in the esky bungs at the bottom of the wagon, you can create a mess-free area for toddlers and small children to explore the world of sensory play and water activities. The spacious storage area underneath means you can fill it with water and toys, and your kids can splash around to their heart's content, without you having to worry about cleaning up afterward. Just ask @_notjustamum on Instagram who turned hers into a sensory table - Plus, this type of play helps your kids learn about different textures and improves their fine motor skills too!
2. Use it to carry farm, snow and camping gearÂ
Â
Did you know that the Burleigh Wagon isn't just for beach and park days? It can be used on all sorts of adventures! If you're planning a longer trip, the wagon is perfect for hauling camping gear to your campsite. It's also a great addition to any snowy adventure for carrying sleds and all the snow gear. For those of you living the farm life, itâs a lifesaver for transporting animal feed, buckets, and whatever else you need - No more sore arms and backs from transporting heavy loads. Plus, you donât need to worry about it getting dirty, because itâs super easy to clean!
3. Help Take Senior Dogs Outside For Fresh AirÂ
Did you know that the Burleigh Wagon isn't just for kids and adults? It's also an excellent tool for our furry friends, especially those who are getting up there in age and have difficulty moving around. Just ask Amy on Instagram who loved it for her Basset Hound! If you have an old dog or another pet that struggles to keep up with your family's outdoor adventures, the wagon can be a lifesaver (and help you avoid leaving them at home all the time). Simply pop them in the wagon, secure their harness to one of our safety belts, and wheel them around, giving them a chance to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine alongside the rest of the family. With the wagon's spacious storage area, you can even bring along their favourite toys and treats, making the adventure even more enjoyable for your four-legged friend!
4. Incorporate It Into Costume Parties
Have you ever considered using the Burleigh Wagon as part of your costume parties? Well, you can! The wagon can be dressed up in all sorts of ways, making it a great addition to your kids' costumes or as a standalone feature at a house party. Imagine it as a haunted car, a train, or even a magic carpet! The possibilities are endless, and the wagon can add a unique touch to any party. We at the Burleigh Wagon team absolutely loved seeing everyone's creative costumes last Halloween, and we're excited to see what you come up with this year! So don't be afraid to get creative and use the wagon as part of your next party. It's a fun and exciting way to take your party to the next level!
5. Disability-Friendly Transportation
As parents ourselves, we understand how challenging it can be to get out of the house with kids, especially those with special needs. That's why we're so passionate about helping other special needs parents to enjoy time out of the house more with their kids. The wagon is a great tool for families with special-needs children, as it can be purchased with NDIS funding in Australia, and can be used to get special-needs kids out of the house safely. With its spacious storage area, it provides a place to store medical equipment and the 3-point safety belts ensure that children can be securely strapped in without worrying about escape. Weâve worked with many NDIS families over the years, and can honestly say this has been one of the most rewarding parts of the business so far!
We hope these creative ways that our Burleigh Wagon owners have used their wagons have inspired you to think outside the box when it comes to your own adventures. Whether you're using it to take your furry friend out for a stroll, incorporating it into your costume party, or creating a sensory play space for your little ones, the possibilities are endless. We're proud to offer a versatile tool that can be used in so many different ways, and we can't wait to see what other creative uses our Burleigh Wagon owners come up with next.
]]>Did you know it doesnât have to be like that?
Designed to make adventures stress-free for families, the Burleigh Wagon has quickly become an essential item for families all around Australia. Need a bench seat for a quick rest? Check. Want to store all your beach gear in one easy-to access place? Check. Want to keep your snacks and drinks close at hand? Check. And even better, it can even double as a place for kids to rest or the baby to nap.
After a hot summer spending days by the pool, at the park and down by the beach, we wanted to share some of our favourite reasons why the Burleigh Wagon is Australiaâs most-loved wagon.
Provides A Comfortable Seat For Supervised Play
The Burleigh Wagon has become a firm summer favourite among hundreds of Australian families for many reasons, but one of the most common pieces of feedback we get is how convenient it is for supervised water play. Designed with all-terrain wheels for sand, gravel, grass and more, the wagon rolls right down to the the water's edge, allowing you to sit comfortably while keeping a close eye on your child as they play in the waves. With a weight capacity of up to 150kg and a space for your favourite beach umbrella, you can say goodbye to hours standing by the water on a hot, sunny afternoon!
The Perfect Built-In Esky
Going to the beach and splashing in the waves is hard work - And the first thing that comes out of our kidsâ mouths after time in the water is often a resounding âMum, Iâm hungry!â
Featuring not only built-in storage spaces perfect for storing snacks and drinks, but the wagon also makes the perfect snack table. Allowing you to simply pop food onto the wagon and let your kids enjoy their snacks without worrying about sand getting into their food. The wagon is also designed to be easy to clean, so any spilled food or drinks can be quickly wiped away before heading home.
Built-In Adjustable SunshadeÂ
We all know one of the most stressful parts of going to the beach in summer is having to slather yourself and your kids in sunscreen or risk getting burned while watching them at the water.
Did you know that we offer a removable sunshade?
With your Burleigh Wagon Umbrella, you can enjoy a shaded space to sit or your little one can enjoy a comfortable nap under cover. Particularly useful for families with young children who need a shaded space to rest and play during their beach day, the umbrella has been one of our most popular features, and we bet you'll love it too!
Ample In-Wagon Storage
One of the standout features, and one of the most important things we wanted to include when designing the wagon, is ample storage. Say goodbye to long days lugging beach bags, chairs, eskies and more down from the car to the waterâs edge - The wagon features not one, but two storage compartments located beneath the seat, providing plenty of room for all your beach essentials. As well as our added boot storage at the back!
Whether you need to stash spare kids clothes, towels, snacks, water, or toys, the Burleigh Wagon has plenty of room for it all. The storage compartments are also perfect for fitting ice bricks, allowing you to keep food and drinks cold during those long, hot beach days!
Extra Side Storage Racks
In-built storage not quite enough for you? Donât worry, the Burleigh Wagon has storage for days with the optional extra side storage racks! Provide extra space to strap in all your beach essentials, the side storage racks are the perfect place to keep boogie boards and beach chairs to umbrellas and more, allowing parents to carry everything over the sand hands-free without having to do hot, sweaty trips to and from the car. With the side storage racks, parents can bring everything they need for a fun day at the beach in one go, without having to worry about carrying everything over hot sand.
Parents all around the country have fallen in love with the Burleigh Wagon, and itâs not hard to see why.
With its easy-to-use design, ample storage, comfortable seating and versatile features... it's the perfect companion for any family outing. Whether you're headed to the beach, the park, or just out for a day of fun in the sun, the Burleigh Wagon has got you covered!
]]>We know that many people have plenty of questions before deciding to join the Burleigh Wagon family, so we wanted to help you out and have some of your most burning questions answered by other Burleigh Wagon families!
Â
FAQ: Will the wagon fit in my car?
The Burleigh Wagon does fit easily in the boot of most cars â Meaning itâs the perfect, sturdy stroller wagon for family outings. The durable design means that you can throw all of your gear into the storage compartments, ensuring you donât have to carry bags around with you when youâre on an adventure.Â
Just ask customer Carrie Paxie:
âWeâve owned foldable beach wagons before that were hopeless so we invested in a Burleigh Wagon. And I have to say I am beyond impressed! I can lift it all by myself into the back of my hatchback car. (Iâm a 45kg mum!) The steering is impeccable, being able to manoeuvre around our house and kitchen island with ease (kids often take it for a spin at home), and our days out are now actually enjoyable with our girls. We donât have to carry bags, everything fits under the seats perfectly. Highly recommend!âÂ
Carrie Paxie - Google
Â
FAQ: Does the wagon have seatbelts?
When designing the Burleigh Wagon, safety was one of our top priorities. Equipped with three-point safety belts on either side of the wagon, kids are securely fastened in during family outings. These belts can be adjusted as your kids grow, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit at all times. You can relax and enjoy your time outdoors with the peace of mind that your children are safe and secure in the Burleigh Wagon.
Just ask Burleigh Wagon mum Tearna Colvin...
âWe are absolutely obsessed with our Burleigh Wagon. Itâs so convenient for all sorts of adventures. Our little guy is only 6 months old but fits so securely into the inbuilt seat straps and just loves going in it. BEST INVENTION EVER!!!â
Tearna Colvin - Facebook
Â
FAQ: Are there payment options available?
We have always been committed to making sure the Burleigh Wagon is accessible for as many Aussie parents as possible, which is why we offer both Afterpay and Lay-buy, allowing customers to pay for their wagon in easy and manageable instalments. Additionally, we also work closely with NDIS participants to use their NDIS funding to pay for their Burleigh Wagon, meaning you can say goodbye to meltdowns, fits and stressful days out!Â
âThereâs nothing as amazing as the Burleigh Wagon. Weâre so grateful to have this and be covered by NDIS. We got this wagon for our autistic daughter and it couldnât be more helpful. Our lives have gotten 1000 times better since we have received our wagon. Our daughter doesnât escape or make a run for it anymore. It has the seatbelts. Itâs easy to pull. Before the BW I couldnât go anywhere by myself and the 2 kids. We can relax when we leave the house, itâs not a struggle anymore. [cont.]â

Â
FAQ: What terrain is it suitable for?
Did you know the Burleigh Wagon is made for more than just sand? Designed to handle a wide range of terrains with ease, its off-road wheels allow it to go off the beaten path- over sand, grass, gravel, and pavement, making it the perfect companion for any outdoor adventure. It even pulls over snow!
Burleigh Wagon mum Martiine Nyhuis truly tested it out for us - See where sheâs used it...
âOur Burleigh Wagon has really changed our lives. It's made getting out of the house with the kids an absolute breeze. We use it at the park, the pool, shopping centre, markets, appointments, theme parks, Kmart, Bunnings, the bank and post office (hello, running errands with kids. I've missed you!) and we were even able to take it to our local cinema. It's got loads of storage and features that make for an easy full day out. [cont.]â
Martiine Nyhuis - Facebook
Â
FAQ: How much can the wagon hold?
The Burleigh Wagon is designed with families in mind. With a weight capacity of up to 150 kilograms, it can safely transport all of your gear and little ones - Or adults too! The wagon's custom design provides ample room for little ones to ride comfortably. The under seat storage also holds 21 litres, making it a perfect esky. And the additional boot space is great for storing towels, nappy's, snacks, a change of clothes, and everything else you may need for a day out with kids.
Not to mention, our heavy-duty side storage rack that can haul all your oversized gear like: wagon umbrella when not in use, beach cabana, picnic table, surfboards, some trikes & bikes, and much more!

Well, you can say goodbye to heat-driven meltdowns and sweaty kids with our USB fan, combined perfectly with the Bluetooth Speaker for on-the-go charging power. The USB Fan clips onto the side of your Burleigh Wagon and keeps the little ones cool.
Enjoy 3 different fan speeds in silence with its noise-reducing silent motor. Perfect for keeping younger ones cool during a midday snooze or chill out time. Donât feel like joining your kids in the sun? Donât stress â the USB Fan will also keep the breeze going while you sit back and relax.

Ice Brick and Esky Bung Pack
By far one of the Burleigh Wagonâs popular features is the in-built storage space. With the Ice Brick or Esky Bung Pack you can turn this storage space into an esky and cooler area perfect for summer.
Depending on your preference, there are two ways you can use these items. Your Ice Brick lays perfectly at the bottom of your Wagon, providing a sealed and fresh environment for your packed meals. Our Ice Brick can also be used in our Coastal Cooler Bags, and Coastal Cooler Totes. In comparison, the Esky Bung Pack allows the opportunity to turn your wagon into a dreamy portable Ice Bucket. Stock your Wagon with your favourite drinks without the worry of leakage or spills (and messes to clean up)! No need to carry a heavy esky around, throw everything in the Burleigh Wagon and head out for the day.
There is only limited stock available before Christmas, so if youâre planning to purchase some Burleigh Wagon accessories, head to our website before stock runs out! Donât forget to tag us in your summer #BurleighWagon photos to share the summer love with us. We love to see it!
]]>Since launching in 2019, weâve had countless families tell us how much the Burleigh Wagon has helped them to enjoy life outdoors again, but if youâre not convinced, weâd love to shed light on some of the most common concerns that Dads have.
Have a read through below, and get in touch with us if youâve got any more
questions!
1. Is the Burleigh Wagon worth the price?
When we dreamed up the idea of the Burleigh Wagon, we wanted to create something that was durable, long-lasting, multi-function and (most importantly), useful.
We wanted to make something that was more than just a double stroller â so we added an esky (ice chest), a bench seat, ability to transform into a change / play / snack table, and a secure space for kids to sit, sleep and play while out and about.
Unlike canvas wagons, it was also important to us that the Burleigh Wagon was certified for safety. For a wagon to be legally allowed to transport children in an upright position, it has to meet the mandatory consumer product safety standards for a stroller (Consumer Protection Notice No. 8). These are the mandatory standards based on the Australian/New Zealand Standards 2088: Pram and Stroller - Safety Requirements.
2. Wonât kids grow out of it quickly?
The Burleigh Wagon will actually last a super long time!
While we recommend that the wagon is used for kids who are at least 6 months old, there is no maximum age limit. The wagon is able to hold up to and above 150 kilograms (350 pounds), meaning that it can safely hold two, three or four kids, or even an adult. Mum or Dad getting tired after a long day? You can ride in the wagon too!
While we find the wagon most useful for those with toddlers, the wagon comes included with two sets of three-point safety belts to help keep younger children securely strapped.
Our children are both over the age of 7 now, and they still enjoy riding in it when weâre out and about. It saves them from getting tired legs on longer days out at the park or exploring somewhere, and makes the whole day less stressful for us. Iâve had a recent foot injury, so I even enjoy riding in it from time to time when I need a break from walking!
3. Does the Wagon do anything other than carry kids?
One of the most important things for us when designing the Burleigh Wagon was its versatility.
We remember finding it so hard to leave the house â we had to bring the double pram (stroller), the esky (ice chest), camping chairs, bags of food and all of the gear for our girls â so we wanted to create a solution that would solve that. In our wagon, we included two underseat storage spaces as well as a boot (trunk), so that youâd never have to carry all of your gear again.
Apart from this, we also ensured the Burleigh Wagon was versatile â you can remove the side panel and transform it into a full bench seat, put ice bricks in the storage space and turn it into an esky (ice chest), put a cushion seat on top and turn it into a daybed for your kids, and so much more! We wanted to make it easier for families to get out of the house, spend time outdoors and enjoy spending time with their kids again, and we think itâs worth every cent.
Plenty of Burleigh Wagon families have also shared their most creative ways to use the wagon â you can read how a Burleigh Wagon mum used her wagon HERE in a recent blog, or check out some of their creative uses below:
One of our fabulous Wagon owners also shared her favourite ways to use the Burleigh Wagon when camping â you can read the full blog from her and her partner HERE.
We hope this letter has helped to answer some of the questions you may have, and that you value your new Wagon as much as we do.

]]>1. Head Out On A Fishing Trip
Fishing is a great way to get your kids outside and get some fresh air, and when it comes to Fatherâs Day activities, thereâs nothing more classic. Simply head to your local lake, river or beach! Youâll typically have the most success fishing in the morning or in the evening, so we recommend planning to take morning or afternoon tea so that Dad can enjoy some snacks while casting a line.
The Burleigh Wagon has two separate compartments so you can pack snacks on one side and fill the other with ice to keep beer cool. You could use it to store bait, or it can double as a bench seat. We recommend popping your side storage racks on to easily transport your fishing gear to and from home, and if you find yourself with a big catch, you can throw them in the esky to keep them cool!
2. Spend The Day Surfing & At The Beach
If dad is the surfing type, spending Fatherâs Day down by the beach is a fun way to spend the day. Even if itâs too cold to swim, you can still enjoy a day in the sun with the sand between your toes! There are plenty of ways you can enjoy Fatherâs Day by the beach. Pack your picnic table and beach umbrella and set up an afternoon tea by the water, grab sand toys for the kids and build an epic sandcastle, or pack your footy gear and set up for a classic game of beach footy with some friends! If youâre brave enough to go for a swim or surf?
The Burleigh Wagonâs side storage rack is perfect for carrying surfboards and boogie boards, and you can store all of the wetsuits, towels and gear inside the wagon when youâre done!
3. Organise a local outdoor BBQ
Letâs be honest â sometimes thereâs nothing Dadâs love more than a good old fashioned outdoor BBQ and a game of footy. Weâre lucky Australia is dotted with parks and beaches, so why not keep things close to home and organise a local BBQ! We know hauling all your BBQ supplies to and from the park can be stressful, so we have a few ideas to make it easier â fill the Burleigh Wagon under-seat storage with ice (or our custom ice bricks) and store your food in there, stack your chairs in the storage racks for easy transport and throw plates, cups and any kids toys on top. Once youâre all set up, the wagon also makes for a perfect seat or play table, so if it suits your family, you can even leave the picnic chairs behind altogether!
4. Go On A Weekend Camping Trip
Get back to the basics and enjoy a weekend camping trip with Dad. Pack the car and head to a local campsite for a short weekend away!
We know a camping trip with little kids can be a daunting idea. The idea of packing up the nappies and bottles, toys and sleeping gear can be overwhelming, but you can still have a great time without all of the stress that camping with small children sometimes brings.
There are a few things we recommend to make packing easier:
Recently, Burleigh Wagon mum Hollie wrote all about her experience camping and how to make the most of the Burleigh Wagon. You can read her story HERE. Get in touch with us if youâve got any more questions! And donât forget, a Burleigh Wagon can also be the perfect gift for Dad too. Itâs the perfect companion to any footy match, fishing trip, camping holiday, or trip to the beach. Theyâre not just for mums.
]]>Burleigh Wagon mum Hollie had lots of good things to say after her recent caravanning trip with her wagon. So we wanted to share her recent experience using the wagon over the last school holidays with our BW community. We asked a few questions about her trip and how she made the most of the wagon while on holiday.
Tell us about your trip & how long you have had your wagonÂ
"We most recently took our Burleigh Wagon on a camping trip for a few days down to Northern NSW. Itâs been more than a year since we invested in purchasing a Burleigh Wagon and itâs by far one of the most useful items we own. We take it everywhereâto the shops, the park, obviously the beach and weekend trips. Over the years, weâve had plenty of families ask us our favourite ways to use our wagon, so we wanted to share a few of the things we love the most about it, plus a couple of tips and tricks for making the most of it when camping!â
Why did you purchase a Burleigh Wagon?
"We decided to purchase a Burleigh Wagon because it was an easier method of carrying everything we needed when heading out of the house for the day. Trying to wrangle two kids, a double pram, nappy bag, water bottles, snacks and more was just too stressful, so the Burleigh Wagon seemed like the smartest solution. I love that it replaced my pram full stop."
What do you think is one of the biggest misconceptions about the Burleigh Wagon?
"I think one of the biggest misconceptions about the Burleigh Wagon is that itâs solely made for the beach. We actually use it more at the park, on walks, at shopping centres, and even just around the house (my kids like to watch TV in it). One of my favourite things about the wagon is its versatility, which we found super helpful on our recent trip. We love outdoor activities like camping and fishing and the wagon is perfect because it holds a lot (up to 150 kilos ) and also our kids plus their friends can fit in it together. It was also handy while travelling to use as a bench seat or as a travel high chair, as well as a snack table when we were out and about and I didnât want the kids to eat off the ground at the campsite"
How did you find travelling with the wagon?
"Travelling with the wagon is much easier than you think it is! While it does take up a bit of space in the boot, because the wagon has so much storage, we were able to shove the drinks and kids lunch boxes into the underseat storage and throw our bags on top, then we just stacked everything else around the wagon, tetris-style. While the car was still very full, we didnât have to pack our pram or the kids camping chairs, which was a huge bonus! We spent a lot of our time around the campground, playing at the waterpark and walking around the local area. I loved being able to relax on the wagon when the kids were playing in the water, and not have to worry about carrying wet gear back to the cabin at the end of the day."
Tips for other campers
"We keep finding new ways to use our wagon... meaning we can leave other items behind. We use it as beach and park chairs, as a high chair for the kids when they are eating, and as a sensory play table. Even though our kids are getting a little older now and wonât need to be strapped into the wagon for much longer, itâs still been incredibly helpful for preventing tired legs and creating a comfortable place to sit when we are on the road, so weâd absolutely recommend it! I also love using it with our grazing table, it's super handy to set up a platter off the ground on top of the wagon and store the cold drinks below. Makes for the perfect setup when on holiday with other families."
Next time youâre planning a camping trip, invest in a Burleigh Wagon to take with you.

]]>Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive. We hope this blog helps to clarify some of your burning questions.Â
No, our stroller wagon is designed for indoor and outdoor/ all-terrain use. Our tyres are heavy duty & durable and will allow you to adventure off the beaten path.
Our custom steering allows for push & pull use & helps you manoeuvre over curbs, over bumpy terrain, and perform well across a variety of surfaces.Â
Other wagons on the market are designed to transport gear đ§đ¨đ đđĄđ˘đĽđđŤđđ§. In February 2019, the ACC in Australia changed their mandatory standards for safety. Wagons that transport children must meet certain standards of safety if marketed to families for such use.
We provide a custom Australian designed wagon that is safe and built to outlast your average strollers lifespan. We also offer innovative design features to genuinely enhance the quality of your outings with children.
The esky is built-in under the larger childrenâs seat. It can hold up to 2 bottles of wine for reference, as well as many snacks & other drink/food options.
If additional storage is required you can use the âfoot spaceâ as a second compartment while kids ride in bench mode. We also have boot storage at the rear.
We fit up to 4 children (with only 2 being able to use safety restraints at a time). If additional safety belts are needed to accommodate more than 2 children being strapped, you can purchase them HERE.
Currently yes. Our box weight and size with accessories is quite large and costly to ship in Australia, but even more costly overseas. The USA will be the next country we will expand to, you can click HERE to register your interest and be updated on our progress. Â
If you would like to purchase a Burleigh Wagon NOW, we do offer international shipping from here in Australia. However, international shipping rates are quite high at present (typically over $1,000 AUD to ship to North America). You can check your exact shipping rate by entering your postal address on our checkout page.
Yes you can. We have had lots of Aussie families thus far successfully purchase their Burleigh Wagon using their child's NDIS funding. With that being said, you need to check with your LAC, OT, specialist, or plan manager before purchasing upfront to determine the wagons eligibility based on your childâs individual needs. Click HERE to learn more.
The wagon itself is fully recyclable âťď¸Â The materials used need to be virgin, food-grade LDPE/HDPE to comply with safety standards as a childrenâs product. It also allows for the snack tray to be safely eaten from. In addition, we recycle all scrap materials at our factory so that there is minimal to no waste.
If the wagon folded we could not allow for our robust 150 kilo weight limit nor allow for hollow storage space underneath. If we folded, all the gear inside wagon would need to be removed for transport.
As a parent, I personally dislike having lots of gear, sand, and spillage from snacks all over my boot after a long day out. Our innovative design keeps all gear/food neat in its place for easy clean up once home. Also, loading in the car is as simple as lifting in or out and off you go!
Yes, we are working on a new colour! We think this colour will sell super fast, as its been highly requested. Be sure to follow us on socials to see some sneaky hints of what it could be.
With a new colour coming very soon, this means we need to make room in our warehouse. So some of your fave colours may be in jeopardy of not remaining apart of our collection. ]]>Whether youâre considering buying a wagon for yourself or you just want to make the most out of your own wagon, here are 5 of the top Tips and Tricks that our wagon owners have shown us to make life easier!
Weighing in at roughly twenty kilograms, itâs important that when youâre lifting your Burleigh Wagon, youâre lifting it properly.
Wagon mum Kellie recommends two different methods when lifting her wagon that make it significantly easier for her when loading it in the boot.
For the first technique, remove the front cup holders and store inside your wagon for transport. Then fold the handle over the top of the wagon. Lastly, with the handle now laying over the top of the wagon, grab underneath the handle with one hand towards the middle of the wagon. With your other hand, grab under the lip of the back storage compartment of the wagon. This will allow you to lift with a shorter arm span which can be helpful.
Alternatively, you can try the knee lift method by standing facing the rear of your wagon. Carefully lift the back of the wagon up & brace the back-end above your knee. Then grab the keyhole handle of your wagon and pull the body of the wagon towards you. This will cause the wagon to lift in the air while being braced on your lower thigh. The elevated front of the wagon can now be rested on the entrance to your boot. Lastly, spin the main body of the wagon into position in your boot and you are good to go.Â
You can see Kellie show us live how to do both of these lifts on our Instagram Tips & Tricks Highlight HERE.
*please do not attempt either lift with knee or back injuries. Do not overload wagon with gear before lifting. Use bags for gear to store in wagon after it is has been loaded in the boot if you struggle to lift fully loaded without assistance. We recommend 2 people to lift whenever possible.Â
2. Multiple Uses For the Side Storage Rack
Did you know our side storage racks arenât just good for holding surfboards? Weâve seen so many wagon owners get creative with what they store in their side storage racks, that we wanted to share a couple of our favourite options with you!
If youâre not using the snack tray and want to take it with you, but also donât want to store it in the wagon alongside your kids, a great alternative storage space is the side storage rack. Simply slide the racks closer together, pop your snack tray in, and youâre all set to go.
We love how our wagon owners are getting creative and storing a variety of gear in the side storage racks! Wide enough to comfortably fit your surfboard, boogie board, fishing rods, yoga mat, some scooters and bikes, as well as our range of custom picnic tables (click HERE to view the collection).
Did you know that you can actually use two sets of our side storage racks to store items on either side of the wagon? We didnât, but one incredibly creative Burleigh Wagon family did!
Our side storage racks can be slotted onto either side wall of the wagon, allowing you to bring multiple surfboards down to the beach hands-free, or take a surfboard and a range of other beach gear down without fuss. If you need to grab a second pair and want to try this hack out for yourself, you can grab another set HERE!
Designed with families in mind, there is nothing that makes us prouder than when we see a Burleigh Wagon family using the wagon in a new and exciting way to make their lives easier.
Created with twenty litres of under-seat storage and the ability to add or remove the extra esky bungs, you can flip up the seats and get creative by using the wagon as a water play station! Durable, and the perfect height for small children, just fill the under-seat storage with water, remove the side panel and your toddlers can spend all afternoon splashing around and playing with the water out the back. Once they're done, the esky bungs also make it easy to let the water out, and the wagon is ready to use again in no time!
*Please supervise children during water play at all times.
With love and adventures naturally comes plenty of wear and tear. While we offer a full detailing service for our Gold Coast wagon owners, if you live further away or canât make it to the warehouse, our wonderful Burleigh Wagon community has discovered two simple products to keep it looking shiny and new!
If you find any little marks on the side of the wagon, we recommend using Eucalyptus Oil with an old rag to buff out any little marks or smudges. If your wagon needs a full clean over or you just want to make it look a little bit nicer, give it a once over with Armor All from your local Super Cheap Auto!
The Burleigh Wagon is certified as a double stroller- allowing kids as young as 6 months old to ride safely. Since our wagon allows for up to a 150KG weight limit, your children will grow with the wagon and naturally need the seatbelt length to be adjusted.Â
Â
If you find yourself running out of room or you need to lengthen the belts more to accommodate the wagon's cushion seats, you can easily adjust the length of your 3-point harnesses. Simply unscrew the belt strap from the wall, adjust the screw holes on the belt fabric, and secure the strap back to the wall in its desired new positioning. We have a great how-to video on our Instagram page. Click HERE to view.Â
While weâve tried to share as many creative ways to use the Burleigh Wagon ourselves, we love hearing from our community as they discover new and unique ways to incorporate the wagon into their lives.

]]>While Valentineâs Day is typically celebrated with a picnic, a dinner out, or a vacation somewhere, there are still plenty of romantic, fun, and memorable ways that you can celebrate with your children too. After all, itâs only fitting to include your kids on a day centred around love!Â
Whether youâre preparing for a full day out or just want unique ways to include your kids, here are 5 fun, family-friendly Valentineâs Day ideas to include your kids in this year.
A romantic picnic is the most quintessential Valentineâs Day activity, so it would only be appropriate to pack your Burleigh Wagon and head out for a picnic with the kids.
Australia has no shortage of family-friendly beaches and parks to choose from when picking your perfect picnic location. New South Wales has Bondi and Bronte, Queensland has Cairns and the Gold Coast beaches, and Melbourne has the spectacular Botanical Gardens. There are plenty of places to set up camp and enjoy a relaxed day out!
If youâre near a beach, pack your swimmers in your Coastal Tote and set up with your sand-free beach mat, boho umbrella and beach table for the perfect sand-free picnic. If youâre heading to the park, we recommend packing everything into your Burleigh Wagon and setting up your Beach Mat and Grazing Table under the shade. Youâll be able to fit everything you need inside the wagon, and enjoy a stress-free day outside with those you care about the most!Â
Dating is one of the most important ways to keep the romance alive in a new relationship, and itâs just as important for your family. This Valentineâs Day, why not break out of your usual weekend routine and plan a family date!
There are plenty of fun and creative places that you can head to for a âdateâ, whether itâs for a few hours or an all-day affair. Plan to go to a Theme Park, your local arcade, or pack up your Burleigh Wagon Picnicware and throw a creative family-friendly picnic at your local beach or park. If you want something to do for a few hours, why not dress up in fancy outfits and head to your favourite local cafe, or pack some popcorn and head to the movies? Not only will your kids enjoy it, but you can enjoy some time out too!
Thereâs nothing that says âI love youâ on Valentineâs Day quite like getting surprised with a thoughtful gift, so why not take the opportunity to include your kids this year!
While we certainly donât expect kids to be good at keeping surprises, there are a few ways you can still enjoy Valentineâs Day as a couple while getting them involved. Help them create a Valentineâs Day card, get them to help deliver breakfast in bed, include them in helping to choose the dayâs activities, or arrange for them to give a gift as well.
Kids love to be involved in surprises (even if theyâre not very good at the âsurpriseâ part), so donât be afraid to include them in whatever you already have planned for the day. If your kids are a little older, you could also get them to assist with your master plan, creating a great bonding experience and an amazing surprise on Valentineâs morning!
We all know that no good Valentineâs Day celebration is complete without chocolate, and there are plenty of simple and fun chocolate-based recipes that you can create in the days leading up. Why not research some recipes, write a shopping list, and get your kids in the kitchen with some simple chocolate recipes!
Depending on your kidsâ ages, you can get them involved in a variety of different ways. Older kids can measure and chop ingredients, while toddlers and young children can dip strawberries in chocolate for a classic, healthier Valentineâs Day experience.
We recommend preparing any Valentineâs treats the day before, so that you can enjoy the fruits of your labour on the day without the messy pack up. If youâre heading out for a Valentineâs Day picnic you can also keep any chocolate-covered treats in your Burleigh Wagon storage, ensuring your snacks stay cold and secure throughout the day.
Valentineâs Day is about two things: Showing your loved oneâs how much you care about them, and extravagant gifts.
We all know that gifts are the best part of Valentineâs Day (apart from the chocolate), and gift-giving is a simple and fun way to include your children in a positive way. Pick up a small gift that each of your children can give to your significant other, or get your children some chocolates or flowers each to help them feel appreciated and included on Valentineâs Day.
If you want to steer clear of your typical flowers and chocolates, swap the cheesy gifts for something practical and get them a Burleigh Wagon Grazing Table, Tote Bag or Cheeseboard, perfect for using on a Valentineâs Day picnic and on adventures all-year round!
There is no better way to celebrate the most romantic day of the year than with those who mean the most to you. If you havenât organised your Valentineâs Day plans yet, or havenât arranged a gift for your significant other, shop our Burleigh Wagon Picnic Accessories today!]]>My name is Elisha Fiorentino, and Iâm a mum, business-owner and Burleigh Wagon owner on the Gold Coast.
I got my Burleigh Wagon in July 2020 after giving birth to my first son, Leo. Being a wife and a busy working mum, I needed something that could carry everything I needed on a day out to work or on the weekend, so I turned to the Burleigh Wagon for a solution.
Let me tell you⌠I instantly fell in love. Not only is the wagon simple to manoeuvre and great for holding absolutely everything I need, but it comes with a range of extras too that literally makes mum life a million times easier!
Iâve had plenty of opportunities to use my wagon, so I wanted to share a few of the features that made me fall in love. Fellow mummas, if youâre on the fence about getting yourself and your bub a Burleigh Wagon, let me tell you⌠itâs totally worth it!
One of the biggest things every mum worries about when looking for their first stroller is whether their child will be safe in it. I mean, weâve just spent nine months growing this cute little kid, we want to make sure they're going to be safe when they finally emerge into the world.
Well, good news mummas... the Burleigh Wagon meets stroller standards! Not just standards for a single stroller, but it actually meets all of the Australian standards to be classified as a double stroller. Twin mummas rejoice!
Coming complete with two sets of three-point safety seatbelts, the Burleigh Wagon can actually replace your usual stroller entirely. How cool is that? Recommended for ages six months and over, and coming with a 7 year warranty, you can be rest assured your little one is not only going to be super stylish, but also super safe too.
I love heading to the beach and going out with my husband, so this was a huge perk for me. No more trying to hold a phone, a coffee cup, a water bottle and push your stroller all at the same time. You can just chuck all your belongings into the wagon and off you go!
My husband and I really love to use it on the weekend. We recently took our Burleigh Wagon out to the farmersâ markets for the morning. It was great to keep our water bottles icy cold in the inbuilt Esky. Our produce was stored on top and our coffees in the cup holders (while Leo was relaxing in the wagon as well). The under-seat ice chest also holds over 10 litres, so thereâs more than enough room to take anything youâd need for a whole picnic. No more juggling bags of food, drinks and bub!
Ok, so maybe this is the reason my husband loves it more than why I do, but itâs still a pretty fantastic perk. The Burleigh Wagon holds over 150 kilos, which means not only can Leo sit in there and enjoy it, but I can too!
One of the best parts about the wagon is how versatile it is. The long side panel can be removed to turn the wagon into a seat, meaning I can use it as a seat when Iâm at the park or when I need somewhere to sit and breastfeed Leo. They also have a brake system on the wheels, so donât have to worry about the wagon rolling or moving about when youâre sitting on it.
Yep, you read that correctly. Weâve used the Burleigh Wagon a few times as a bed and a changing station for Leo, and itâs been an absolute lifesaver!Â
Before the wagon, I used to be very conscious of taking Leo out around nap time, and Iâd always be very wary of making sure I knew where the changing stations were so that I could get to them if I needed them. My husband and I love going out, but it made it harder to plan things when we had to consider so many other factors.
Getting the Burleigh Wagon made it much easier for us. We have the optional umbrella and seat cushions as well, and it makes the world of difference having a dry, soft, shaded and comfortable space where we can change him and let him nap. Thereâs no need to worry about if thereâs a bathroom nearby or if heâs going to be unsettled. I also find it great for storing all of my nappies and changing gear under the seat, so I donât have to worry about lugging around a nappy bag, either!
Â
The team behind Burleigh Wagon put heaps of thought into each aspect of the wagon, and it really shows. Weâre excited to take the wagon out on more adventures and keep using it as Leo gets older!
Abracadabra! Just like magic, the Burleigh Wagon was born!Â
Since creating the Burleigh Wagon, weâve been inundated with positive feedback. Whether itâs first-time mums, experienced mums, parents of disabled children or even grandparents, every customer weâve spoken to has told us how much they love our innovative design and functionality. We believe the Burleigh Wagon has the potential to change lives, so we wanted to share the top 5 reasons why we believe our Burleigh Wagon is Australiaâs best beach wagon.Â
As children grow and develop, their needs change. One minute you have this tiny, sleeping infant, and the next you have a curious, wriggly child, and we wanted a stroller that could grow and develop alongside them.Â
Unlike other strollers, we designed the Burleigh Wagon to grow with your kids. Able to transform from a cozy sleeping space for a newborn to a secure open stroller, the Burleigh Wagon will allow young, inquisitive minds to explore the world around them.Â
Not simply limited to stroller functionality, the Burleigh Wagon also converts to a changing table with under-seat storage for your nappy bag. When your little one needs a nappy-change, simply pull your nappy bag out of storage, fold the seats into a flat position, and youâre ready to go.Â
When we created the Burleigh Wagon, safety was our highest priority. While we wanted a wagon that was functional, we also wanted to ensure kids of all ages would be safe. The addition of 3-point safety seat belts keep your kidsÂ
secure while they ride and allow the wagon to actually be certified as a double stroller! This makes it perfect for parents who find that they have to wheel multiple children around during the day. The 150 kilogram weight capacity also means it can hold much more than regular canvas wagons.
One of the most unique features of the Burleigh Wagon, and one of the features that we love the most, is our 5th wheel steering system! The steering enables a much smaller turning circle, making it easy to manoeuvre through theme parks, shopping centres and any other busy space. Youâll have no problems taking the wagon for a (literal) spin outdoors at all of your favourite stomping grounds!Â
Who wants to be limited by their stroller? Many other strollers on the market arenât designed for multiple terrains, and those that were, often cost upwards of $600. We invested huge amounts of time and energy testing various wheels on our wagon, and we ended up with the perfect tyres for all-terrain driving and a range of adventures!Â
Weâve tested our wagon on sand, gravel, dirt, mud, snow and just about every type of terrain you can imagine. Weâve had so much positive feedback including how simple the wagon is to pull through a range of environments, and how competitively priced the Burleigh Wagon is when compared to other all-terrain strollers on the market.Â
Letâs be honest - Weâre on our phones a lot. Whether itâs organising the babysitter, checking local restaurants or grabbing the millionth cute baby photo, our phones are often nearby, so itâs important to make sure they donât run out of battery mid-adventure and leave us stranded!Â
Available on its own or in our Adventure Accessories Bundle, our Bluetooth Speaker comes with two charging ports designed to ensure your phone will never run out of battery. Plug your phone into the large, eco-friendly battery when you run low on juice, and use the speaker to play calming tunes for when your little one needs to catch some zâs. No more worrying about low battery and a stressed-out baby, our Bluetooth speaker can solve both problems for you!
]]>The possibilities for exploration around the Gold Coast are endless. White beaches, grassy parklands, lush rainforests and even theme parks are calling your name. Thereâs no limit to the number of places you can explore with your little ones, and with the Burleigh Wagon, year-round adventure is easy!
While there are dozens of places that you can take your little ones to explore, we have a few family favourites that weâd like to share with you. Keep reading to check out some of our favourite places to explore with our kids during winter!
There really arenât many places cooler than the Mountview Alpaca Farm. Think wine, good food, plenty of free space and cute Alpacas. What more could you ever want?
Nestled in the OâReillyâs Canungra Valley Vineyards, this farm is an absolute must-visit if you love animals. Offering shopping and dining opportunities, as well as the option to get up close and personal with the Alpacas, you and your kids will love spending time here. Connected to OâReillyâs vineyard, you will have the opportunity to buy your favourite drop of wine while the little ones explore the area, then pop it open and enjoy a picnic with your Burleigh Wagon Picnicware on the grassy area outside. To complete the day and protect your kids from the sun, pack your umbrella and some lunch in the built-in esky to enjoy an afternoon in the sun!
If you have a pass to one of the many theme parks around the Gold Coast, winter is one of the best times to use it. Fewer people, shorter queue lines and cooler weather means you can get more bang for your buck, and with the Burleigh Wagon in tow, you can enjoy it even more.Â
Rather than getting tired legs, hungry tummies and parched throats, your Burleigh Wagon can really come in handy! When your little ones get tired feet or legs, pop them in the wagon for a while. Use it as a bench seat while waiting for rides, and stash water and snacks in the under-seat storage for when the time inevitably comes.
Rather than carrying around our bags, hats and snacks, we personally love being able to put everything in the wagon, and still have room for our girls to take a break when they get tired. Between shopping, eating, rides and shows you can easily spend hours at a theme park, so bringing your wagon with you next time you go will be a life saver!
Weâre all pretty familiar with the Southbank Parklands, but when was the last time you actually visited? Next time youâre thinking of loading up the kids and getting out of the house for a few hours, pack your Burleigh Wagon into the boot with you and take it for a spin up in Brisbane.
While it may not be warm enough right to go for a dip in the lagoon, thereâs no end to the number of alternative activities that you can do at Southbank. Walk along the riverside and let little legs rest inside the wagon, pack the Burleigh Wagon Picnicware to enjoy a picnic in the park, or empty out the storage space and hit up the Collective Markets for a few hours on the weekend!
If you plan on spending more than a few hours up there, take along your umbrella and cushion seats. You can store them alongside the wagon in the surfboard holders when theyâre not being used, then set it up and let your children nap in the shade.
Weâve found that most people donât think about taking the wagon on camping trips and off-road adventures, but itâs actually made to help!
South-East Queensland is spoilt for choice when it comes to hidden spots for adventure, with plenty of camping spots, rockpools and rainforest retreats smattered from north of Brisbane to the Tweed Coast. While camping with newborns and toddlers isnât always easy, visiting a campground for the day, weekend or for a week-long trip is a great chance to get out of the house and get back to nature. If youâre a Burleigh Wagon owner, itâs also a great opportunity to take your wagon out and really test how much it can do.
Depending on your camping activity, thereâs a range of ways that the wagon can help. If you choose to head to rock pools or a nearby creek, you can pack your swim nappies, spare clothes and towels in the under-seat storage. Those who are after a bushwalk can throw some snacks and water in the esky, but if you just want to relax by the fire or near your kids, you can take a seat on the wagon and breathe.
Worried about mud, dirt and grime? The Burleigh Wagon is made for all-terrain. A little mud wonât hurt it at all!
Between grassy expanses, walking tracks, the bouncy pillow and playground equipment, thereâs no end to the other activities that you can do at the Broadwater Parklands.
If youâre local to the Gold Coast youâre almost certainly fairly familiar with the area, but in case you havenât visited the Broadwater lately, itâs time to go back with your wagon.
Kick a ball, have a picnic or fly a kite in the grassy stretch up the northern end of the Broadwater, or sit and relax on your wagon while your kids bounce and play on the play equipment. There are plenty of walking areas to tire out little legs, but donât worry if they run out of energy. The wagon holds over 150 kilograms, so they can hop on and ride in style.
If you and your kids are animal lovers, Australia Zoo is the place to go. Just two hours up north, visiting this famous wildlife park is well worth it for kids and adults. There are dozens of animals and plenty of shows and exhibitions to keep little and bit kids entertained all morning. Think the famous Crocodile Show, a special Tortoise Demonstration and Bird of Prey show, as well as the extra opportunities to walk the Tigers in the morning or visit the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital!
Covering over 110 acres, bringing your Burleigh Wagon to the zoo is well worth it. Approved for use within the park, little legs can enjoy all of the sights and sounds of the wildlife park from the comfort of a shaded wagon, with the flexibility to stop for a snack or water at any time. Picnics are also permitted within Australia Zoo, so when youâre packing for a day out at the park, make sure you include your Burleigh Wagon Picnicware as well. There is plenty of room for food in the under-seat storage, and you can fill one section with ice to use as an esky for drinks, too!
Holding over 150 kilograms, when adult legs get tired, you can rest on the wagon too. No more lugging around chairs, bags and snack eskys - With the Burleigh Wagon, you can do it all.
]]>Not when youâve got a Burleigh Wagon!
Whether your kids are toddlers or moving into the teenage category, combining food, family time and fun is always a recipe for success. If youâve been wanting to get out of the house more this Autumn, weâve compiled a list of 5 creative, kid-friendly picnic ideas to help get your picnic weekends off the ground. From Mexican-themed picnics to nights under the stars, we think youâll love these creative picnic ideas!
There is nothing kids love more than dressing up and getting creative. Next time youâre planning to pack your Burleigh Wagon for a picnic, why not choose a foreign culture and theme the day around it?
Start by choosing your theme. Opt for a Japanese theme with sushi and chopsticks, a Mexican twist with sombreros and nachos, or indulge in the classic party pies and sausage rolls for a true Aussie day out.
Your stroller wagon comes complete with under-seat storage space. Simply store any warm food underneath your seats, or fill it with ice and use it as an esky for drinks. Once all of your food is stored, fold the seats down on top and let your little ones climb on board! Donât forget to add a Burleigh Wagon shade umbrella and picnic accessories for the perfect themed picnic afternoon.
Who ever said that board games had to be confined to dining tables and living room floors? Dust off the board games from the cupboard, pack them into your Burleigh Wagon and head down to your local park for an afternoon of outdoor board game fun.
If youâre worried about fitting everything into your stroller wagon, donât worry, itâs simple. If youâre a card game family, you can easily throw the cards into the rear storage compartment and pack all of your picnic food into the under-seat storage. If you prefer board games, pop your food into the storage compartments and place the board games on top with your little ones!
The Burleigh Wagon will also double as a table or a seat, so once your picnic food is all done, just pop the empty containers back into the compartment and play away on top!
The weather may be cooling down, but with a couple of pillows and blankets, an evening picnic will be perfect.
If you havenât picnicked at twilight before, thereâs a few things you will need to bring with you. Be sure to bring a picnic mat (such as our Adventure Play Mat), some blankets to wrap around yourself, a torch, bug spray, and of course, plenty of food.
In regards to food, keep it simple. Pre-cook spring rolls, a pizza or sausages and salad, then stash it all in the bottom of your Burleigh Wagon and head down to your local park. Of course, you canât forget the lollies, chips and various other snack foods that are essential for any good picnic. Why not make up some lolly bags and hide them in the rear storage for later?
Once youâve all eaten your fair share, break out the blankets and go stargazing. If you pick a spot far enough away from main roads (such as a local park or near the beach), you should be able to see the stars glittering in the sky! Google constellations to point out or invent your own.
Letâs be honest, one of the worst things about going hiking is having hungry and tired kids who want to be carried. When youâre tired and hungry and the last thing you want to do is lug a heavy toddler as well. Fitted with all-terrain polyurethane tyres, your Burleigh Wagon is set and ready to come with you on your next adventure. Fit it with our Cushion Seats (found here), and then little legs will have a comfortable spot to rest along the way!
You donât want to make a post-hike picnic too complicated, so when youâre packing the car in the morning, be prepared. Throw the snacks, water and coffee thermos into the under-seat storage compartment, then put sunscreen, band aids, bandages and a phone charger into the rear compartment.
Sometimes thereâs nothing beats a backyard picnic. If you donât have transport to a suitable park or beach, whipping out the picnic gear and setting up a creative picnic in your backyard is still a good option. After all, itâs simple, close to home, and convenient!
Although you may be tempted to duck inside for a phone call, to clean up or to let your kids play, try and bring everything outside with you as if you were having a real picnic. Pack up all of the snacks into takeaway containers, prepare the junk food, pop any soft drink into your Burleigh Wagon and wheel the wagon and the kids outside for an afternoon in the back (or front) yard. Play card games, board games, or just let the little ones nap under the Burleigh Wagon umbrella while you read a book. Donât have a Burleigh Wagon yet? Why not get one and then start your adventure!
]]>Getting the kids out for a picnic on the beach or at the park is one of our familyâs favourite activities. But when you have little ones, it can be challenging just getting to the picnic spot with all the things we need to pack. After all, you wouldnât want to be stuck out at the picnic with a bunch of essentials lacking.
Here are some essentials you should pack for your family picnic:
1. A Durable and Versatile Picnic Basket
Having a spacious and functional picnic basket and cooler is one of the most important things to have for your picnic. Our Greywash Picnic Basket comes with 2 mini stem glasses, ceramic plates, cutlery, and more. Weâve put a lot of thought into its design to make it compatible with the Burleigh Wagon. Store your picnic food in the wagonâs esky compartment and store away your picnic table in the surfboard holder after youâre done.
2. Food, Of Course!
Keeping it simple is the best way to go, especially if your little ones are not picky eaters. Veggies like carrots, bell pepper slices, cherry tomatoes, and sliced cucumbers are great snacks that are very nutritious at the same time. Sticking with healthy pre-packaged foods are also a great choice, as well as some simple sandwiches or wraps you will all enjoy. Make sure to bring ice packs or ice to keep your food and drinks nice and cold.
3. A Comfy Blanket or Portable Table & Chairs
Sitting on prickly grass or an anthill is a quick way to have a rough time outdoors, but bringing a comfortable blanket to settle down on will keep everyone happier - and itch-free! Folding chairs and tables will come in handy too. Of course, the Burleigh Wagon is perfect for this. Let your kids rest or sit on the wagon when theyâre tired or having a snack.
4. Activities for you and the Little ones
Having fun outdoor games and toys for you and the kids to enjoy in the sunshine is great for bonding time. At the park, hula-hoops, a ball, or a frisbee will be great. You can invent a new game using all three!
5. Cleaning supplies
Make sure you bring along some trash bags, sanitiser, and napkins or paper towels to clean up any messes that may happen while on your picnic adventure. Wet wipes are great for sticky messes on fingers and faces.
6. Spare clothing - Warm & Cold
Keeping some extra clean clothes on hand is always a must for us with our littles ones - especially when spending time outdoors. You just never know when someone is going to get a wee bit dirty.
7. Sunscreen & Insect Repellents
We never go anywhere without sunscreen and insect repellents, especially for long outdoor excursions. We like to travel with both in case we end up spending time outside and we need them. Keeping a First Aid kit handy is also a big must-have for those unpredictable ouchies. I like to keep a small first aid kit handy in the boot storage compartment of the wagon.
Happy picnicking! đ§şÂ Be sure to tag #burleighwagon on your next family picnic.

Benefits of Playing Outdoors for Your Children
Healthy Kids
With all that open space, theyâll be able to get some exercise and gain fine motor skills and will be able to really run around and expend some energy too. Not to mention that playing outside helps strengthen the bones and prevents obesity too.
If youâve been a little stressed and youâre worried that your child is feeling that stress too, going outside will be great for them. All that fresh air will help both of you feel so much better.
Sunshine
The sun does more than light up your day. Physically being in the sun can help your child gain some much-needed exposure to Vitamin D, and can improve their immune system. They might even sleep better and be in a better moodâall because of the sun.
Of course, your child might get hot, or you might worry about too much sun exposure. The Burleigh Wagon can come in handy for them to sit in, or to keep some snacks and water in there.
Learning and Development
Yes, playing outdoors will help your child be smarter. Thatâs because being outside helps them to develop their learning abilities through new information, skills, and ideas. Theyâll be able to engage in a way that they canât do inside.
Theyâll also be able to develop better too. There are actually optometry and vision studies that show that children who play outside regularly will have better distance vision. Your younger children will gain so much from seeing and feeling new things as well as they see birds, bugs, and flowers that just donât grow inside your home. Let them explore a little bit, even if youâre only in your own backyard.
Creativity
Not only will your child develop a healthy body, but theyâll develop a healthy and creative mind too. Playing unstructured outdoors will help your child develop positive behavioral skills, and will give them a chance to be more inventive and creative as they look around them and explore the natural world.
Your child will be able to invent and play games with their siblings and friends, or even with you if you want to play around a little bit too. Even small interactions can help you improve their communication, cooperation, and organisational abilities.
Attention
Children who play outside more are actually known to have better attention spans. This is because they can channel themselves into more self-directed play and learn to initiate activities on their own. There are even studies of children with ADHD that show that children who spend more time outdoors tend to exhibit fewer overall symptoms.
Happiness and Independence
Letâs not forget a big benefit of taking your child outdoor: happiness. Being outside is something that can improve your childâs mood and help relax them, especially as you give them a little taste of independence. Let them play a little with their siblings and other children as they learn to share, take turns, and move around in an unfamiliar environment.
Conclusion
There are so many benefits to playing outsideâboth for your child and for you too. Let some of your stress melt away as you watch your child learn new skills and get a little sunshine, and expend some energy!
Luckily, there isnât a need to spend a small fortune on elaborate holidays to create amazing memories. What makes a memory special is the interactions and laughs you share. If you are looking to make some of those special memories, it may be far easier than you think. Check out our suggestions for some easy ideas!
7 Ways to Create Special Family Memories with Your Kids
Go to The Zoo
If you are looking for an easy way to make memories, look no further than the zoo. The wide variety of animals your little ones will get to see will be enough to hold their interest. You may even be able to slip in a little educational information too as you teach them about what they see.
You can watch their amazing little faces as they see creatures they only imagined or saw in kidsâ books. Bring your Burleigh Wagon along to make longer trips more comfortable for everyone. Itâll just add that extra touch of excitement for the kids.
Many zoos also have areas for kids to play, especially younger ones who may need a break. Just look for zoos in your area and check out all the different activities and programs they may offer.
Go Fruit Picking
While it may not seem as exciting as seeing an elephant up close, fruit picking can be another simple way to make memories. Whether itâs apples, berries or other fruits, fruit picking provides your child with a sense of accomplishment as they add their fruit to your haul. You can also add to the memories by baking the fruit you picked to spend some more quality time together.
Start A Family Tradition or Hobby
Family time is so important to a child, and hectic schedules can sometimes make it hard to set aside time to spend together. Creating a family tradition or hobby allows you to better schedule time together. It can also be a staple for years to come.
It can be an annual thing like a special Christmas tradition, or even a daily or weekly thing like taking a family walk. Why not make a weekly stroll down the beach with the little ones in your Burleigh Wagon.
Get Artistic
Art and craft offers you a great opportunity to create memories and also, save those memories with what you create. This can be anything from drawing, to chalk art and even scrapbooking to put all your memories in one place.
Explore the Outdoors
Nature has a lot to offer and it is free. Whether it is a simple walk around a park, a day at the beach, or even a trek through the woods, the fresh air and sun are great for your kids and the views can be amazing. Just remember to take your Burleigh Wagon along to give the kids a nice spot to rest when they get tired.
Take A Road Trip
Sometimes the best memories aren't the ones that you plan. If you are looking to do a more spontaneous day, why not fill the tank with gas and just drive around until you find something you want to do. You never know what you may find along the way and it creates a little adventure.
Check Out Local Events
There is always something going on in towns and cities. Whether it is a festival, concert, or just a get-together, you can usually find great kinds of kid-friendly events without having to travel too far. This is also a great way to let the kids experience their community.
Conclusion
Memories are something that can't be bought or traded. They have to be created through special time with friends and family. Even the simplest outing can become a cherished childhood memory when love and time are put in. So take advantage of the nice weather and make some memories that you will look back on for years to come.
]]>Make It Educational
While it may not seem like it to your kids, walking around an educational centre like a museum or animal sanctuary can be a great way to provide knowledge and fun. You can sit your younger kids in our Burleigh Wagon as you move through an animal sanctuary or zoo to prevent them from getting tired out too quickly and let them take in the sights and sounds around them. Zoos and aquariums often have areas specifically to be hands-on for children as well so they have a chance to play.
Kids in The Park
If youâre in Sydney, youâd have heard of Kids in The Park. Known for their wide range of activities just for kids, it is ideal for school holidays and has many free options. Located in Sydney Olympic Park, Kids in the Park lets your kids enjoy playing in a safe space while giving mum and dad a chance to sit back and watch the kids have fun in the bench mode of your wagon.
Enjoy A Winter Festival
While you arenât going to see the standard white Christmas in Australia, winter festivals are held throughout the winter months to create a man-made version for residents to enjoy. With ice rinks, fake snow and treats like hot chocolate, you can give your children the experience of a winter wonderland without needing to travel. Dreamworld on the Gold Coast has a great Winterfest on now until 21 July 2019!
Dog Sledding
While you may not associate Australia with dog sledding, there are active sled dog tours in Mt. Buller, VIC. The Australian sled dogs not only provide rides but a petting session for the kids. You can also get souvenir plushies of the dogs for the kids to cuddle and remember the day with.
Enjoy a Show
While there are plenty of kids movies in the cinema during the holiday season, there are live entertainment options that offer more interactivity without the strict silence of a standard movie theater. This makes them ideal for younger children who may struggle to sit still for long periods of time. You can also simply do a quick web search for kidâs shows near you and introduce your children to a new experience. Â
Visit A National Park
Getting out and exploring nature is a fantastic way to spend time with your kids, but especially in winter. In the warmer months, you are more likely to run into dangerous creatures like snakes. But in winter, the colder temperatures keep these threats at bay without being too cold to hike. Your kids can get some fresh air while checking out the beauties of nature, and you can all enjoy a picnic lunch while youâre there.
Head to The Beach
It may not be your first thought in winter, but the beach is still a great place to take your kids. Enjoy a walk along the water as well as some beach sports like frisbee or football. This is also another great place to have a picnic and winter can often mean the beach wonât be as overcrowded. Our Burleigh Wagon is a great companion for your trips to the beach!
Conclusion
There is no need to miss out on making some great family memories this winter. Whether you want to make it educational, or just want to enjoy some relaxing family time, any of these activities will make your winter season an enjoyable one.Â
Many are even accessible by the Burleigh Wagon for your kids to ride in. These parks make it easy to bring the kids along and will get you that outdoor fix you crave.

Outdoorsy parents know it's no fun to have a tired kid in the middle of a 15-kilometer hike, but this short path with interpretive signs to read and waterbeds to admire will keep your child occupied and excited.
Sydney Harbour National Park - Middle Head
Middle Head is a great option if youâre looking for a dayâs adventure to learn something new. The Don Goodsir Track will take you to see military forts and relics built in the 1800s, and you can even take a guided tour to learn about the military history of the park!

Elliston Coastal Trail
Another set of trails with multiple options, the Elliston Coastal Trail is a 13.6-kilometer trek with miniature pathways within. The trail allows you to view the gorgeous Eyre peninsula coastline as you walk along the beach.
The Trail will make a nice change of scenery if you donât get out to the coast much and will allow your kids to explore the beach environment.
Wittunga Botanic Garden - Wittunga Naming Walk
If you enjoy looking at plants, this Botanic Garden allows you an opportunity to read interpretive signs and learn about various plants in the garden.
The walk is completely self-guided and only 1 kilometer long. It is a great one to take your time and let your kids learn about different plants.
Conclusion
Thankfully, there are many kid-friendly trail options in Australia to take your little ones out to enjoy the outdoors. Our Burleigh Wagon will make the trek so much easier! Your little ones will enjoy learning new things and experiencing the outdoors at any of these Australian parks and trails.
]]>If you have more than one child like me though, you already know how difficult it is to wrangle everyone, keep track of everything, and fit it all in a pram. I searched for the right pram for what felt like ages, and unfortunately, I could never find something that quite ticked all the boxes.
From chatting with many other mums, I also found out what they wished they had in their kidsâ prams too. Today, Iâm sharing what Iâve learned with all of you parents out there.
What Mums Wish They Had in Their Kidsâ Prams
I wanted these features in my pram, both for my sake and my childrenâs. The right pram should give you all the storage you need while keeping your kids safe and comfortable at the same time.
Cool Storage
I donât know how many mums Iâve spoken to that wish they had cold storage in their pram. No one wants to eat a warm sandwich for a snack or have a warm drink.
This is why I made sure our Burleigh Wagon has a handy esky storage. Itâs really a must since itâs able to keep babyâs milk or snacks cool. If youâre having a day out with your older child and your new baby, you donât need to worry about not having what they need. Since the storage is sealed off too, youâll never spill food or drinks on the cloth.
Snacks on the Go
You already have the cool storage for your snacks, but youâd know that every time you hand out your kidsâ snacks, they always get it all over their laps. Thatâs why weâve designed a snack tray in the Burleigh Wagon for our kids, helping them to keep a handle on their snacks so us parents donât have to clean up as much later.
Easy Sitting
Letâs face it: days out are fun. But theyâre tiring too. When my kids are running around and playing in the grass or the sand, sometimes, I just want to take a seat. Having a seat would certainly be easier when Iâm holding my littlest one to feed her. Thatâs why I love having a bench on the Burleigh Wagon. I can adjust the pram and take a seat no matter where I am, and I canât tell you how valuable that is.
Weather Protection & Cooling Off
The umbrella on the wagon is especially great for protecting your kids from the sun. Itâs much better than using a blanket or drapes on your pram which can trap the heat inside. If your child needs a nap during the day, the wagon will lay completely flat, something which not all prams can do. Burleigh Wagon allows for 365-degree air flow to keep your children safe and comfortable.
Extra Storage
Beyond the cool storage, you have even more space for everything you might need. Even if you want to fit a surfboard, you can.
Independence
Up until now, Iâve been talking about all the features that youâll love. What about the kids? Well, children love having an open design. As compared to a pram where theyâre all strapped in, they get to sit in the wagon and look around. Theyâre so occupied that there are fewer meltdowns.
Kid-Friendly
Prams arenât the most fun. Burleigh Wagon includes a few features for your children to keep them entertained and keep you sane. It even has speakers in it to play your childâs favorite song or to play some white noise to help them relax for a nap. Itâs fun and exciting which means you donât have to force your kids into a pram.
Multiple Children
You want a pram that can fit all of your children. The Burleigh Wagon fits three kids and even with all of our items, everything fits just fine and you get to save your back from carrying them around all day.
Conclusion
Days out are a lot of fun. Days out where the kids are screaming for a nap or a snack are definitely not as fun. Thatâs why weâve taken all these into consideration to create the best option for parents to keep their kids safe and entertained, and to hold all their items too. For the best alternative to a basic pram with not much features, you need to check out our Burleigh Wagon!
]]>As parents, we must be educated on the proper precautions to take in order to prevent our children from overexposure to the sun and what to do when our child gets a sunburn. In this post, weâll cover 7 ways to teach your kids about sun safety and to equip them with the right knowledge to protect themselves.
The Importance of Sun Safety
Everyone needs sunlight. Without sunlight, we cannot produce vitamin D. Without vitamin D, we are unable to absorb calcium, resulting in weak and frail bones. However, overexposure to Ultraviolet rays can lead to skin and eye damage, immune system suppression, and skin cancer.
In 1998, The Cancer Council in Australia launched the SunSmart Schools program. Over 2500 schools and 3500 childcare programs have joined and are educating kids on sun safety. Terry Selvin, Chairman of The Cancer Council in Australia, states that âBeing sun smart is just as important as eating your fruits and vegetables.â
7 Ways to Teach Your Kids About Sun Safety
Â
How to Treat a Sunburn:
⢠Have your child take a cool bath (not too cold)
⢠Dab a wet towel on the sunburn to soothe pain and relieve heat
⢠Apply Aloe Vera gel to all sunburned areas
⢠Give your child an anti-inflammatory such as ibuprofen to ease the itching and pain
⢠Apply moisturizing lotion to rehydrate the skin
⢠For more intense sunburns apply hydrocortisone
⢠For severe and blistering sunburns - call your doctor
Â
There are endless easy ways to keep your child protected on top of sunscreen and cute sunglasses. Our Burleigh Wagon is a very simple way of providing an extra layer of protection â it actually has built-in coverage. This allows you to enjoy time outside with your child without the worry of finding extra shade on an especially sunny day.
With these simple ideas, you can take now take the necessary measures in keeping your child's skin protected and teach them how to protect themselves while having fun in the sun.
]]>7 Of Australiaâs Best Beaches to Explore with Your Sand-Loving Kids
Balmoral Beach, NSW
With the enclosed netted area and boardwalk surrounding this beach, Balmoral Beach is the perfect place to introduce your kids to the ocean. This beach is a great option if you are looking after multiple kids, especially if you still have one or two that are very young. There are even a few amazing places to eat nearby, like the Boathouse Restaurant, making your day that much more enjoyable.
Mandalay Beach, WA
Located on the West Coast, Mandalay Beach is more isolated than some of the more popular beaches out there. Bring your kids along to this quiet coast to interact with nature without the pressure of big crowds nearby. Check out the coast and enjoy some time in the quiet together. Do be aware that there's a bit of a hike to there unless you find specific entry points your car can access. Since it is more isolated, make sure to bring your own snacks and refreshments too.
Busselton, WA
Lots of kids love trains. I know that my oldest has been collecting them for years, which is part of the reason why I loved taking the kids to Busselton. Your kids will be able to see the 19th-century wooden jetty while you all enjoy the beach. The entire shoreline is protected from winds and the strong surf thanks to the cape, which means that swimming conditions are great for your kiddos. If you get tired of the sand, head inside to check out the Underwater Observatory to explore the coral reef and marine life underneath the ocean. During summer, you can even bring your kids to the inflatable water park for a little more fun.
Main Beach, QLD
Grab your kids and check out the best of what the Gold Coast has to offer with Main Beach. This is a beautiful location with calm waves that are easy to swim in, and many people patrolling to keep everyone safe. It is quite easy to get to and your Burleigh Wagon will be ideal to pull your little ones over the sand to the edge of the water where they can see the dolphins that inhabit the main strip. If it's the right season you can also spot whales! You may not want to go during the Festival of Surfing in March, but head on over for a relaxing day on this sheltered beach. With all the best lunch spots nearby, itâs easy to make a day out of this trip for a good value.
Caloundra, QLD
Not only is there an amazing beach in Caloundra, but also there are many family activities set around the town for plenty of fun even when the kids start getting tired of the sand. Get them into the calm waters to try paddle boarding, or teach them to play cricket in the white sand. Since this island is sheltered from the ocean, the winds arenât too strong and it is much safer for younger children to get their feet wet. Once you start getting hungry, bring your family over to the boardwalk to get something to eat, or to see some of the many nature reserves set around. This is an easy place to show your kids the natural wonders around them.
Collaroy Beach, NSW
Up along Northern Sydney, youâll find Collaroy Beach - a wonderfully stunning and kid-friendly beach to bring the whole family. Play with your kids on the sand and near the water, or take them to the amazing playground nearby. You can also bring your toddlers to the paddling pool to help them learn how to swim while keeping them safe. When everyoneâs tired, pile the kids into your Burleigh Wagon and head on over to one of the cafes right nearby.
Elizabeth Beach, NSW
This stunning NSW attraction has many wide beaches that you can pull your kids along in your Burleigh Wagon to find the perfect place to build sandcastles. There aren't any kiosks on the beach so be sure to bring snacks. It can be difficult to find just the right beach for your kids. You donât want it to be so crowded that they canât run around and have fun, but you also donât want to go to an isolated place thatâs difficult to get to.
Australia is incredibly fortunate to have so many amazing beaches to choose from. We hope your Burleigh Wagon will add to your fun and adventure as you create memories and have family-friendly fun together!
